About Course

The Authentic Minds Pathway is an eight-part self-directed programme for women who received an autism or ADHD diagnosis later in life and still feel unsure who they are beneath years of masking, people-pleasing and trying to cope.

Many people jump straight into strategies after diagnosis, but lasting change begins with understanding yourself. This programme gives you the space to explore the patterns that have shaped you, recognise your needs and capacity, reconnect with your own values and develop the words to advocate for yourself.

The programme follows the Authentic Minds 4 R’s:

Recognise the patterns, experiences and needs that have shaped your life.

Reframe old beliefs, expectations and judgements about yourself.

Reimagine what life could look like when your own needs, values and preferences are given greater consideration.

Rebuild through clearer boundaries, self-advocacy and realistic changes that work for you.

You’ll receive eight short teaching videos and eight practical reflection resources to complete at your own pace. Each part builds on the last, helping you develop a clearer understanding of yourself and create a personal way forward.

Recognise 1: How did I get here?
Receiving an autism or ADHD diagnosis or making that discovery, can help explain parts of your life, but it doesn’t automatically tell you who you are. In this topic, you’ll look back at your experiences with a new understanding, explore how you learned to adapt or cope, and begin recognising the patterns that have shaped your sense of self. You’ll also consider what makes more sense now and what you would like to understand about yourself as you move through the pathway.

Recognise 2: What is happening for me now?
Masking, people-pleasing and changing capacity can affect everyday life without you always realising it. In this topic, you’ll begin noticing how these patterns show up for you, what uses or supports your energy, and the early signs that you are becoming overwhelmed. You’ll also explore your physical, executive function, social and sensory capacity so you can make choices that better reflect what you realistically have room for.

Reframe 1: Whose rules am I living by?
Many of the rules we live by come from family, school, workplaces, relationships and wider society. In this topic, you’ll identify the expectations and “shoulds” that influence how you judge yourself and make decisions. You’ll explore where these beliefs may have come from, how they affect you now, and whether a fairer and more accurate belief could serve you better.

Reframe 2: Learning to trust your experiences
Years of being questioned, misunderstood or compared with others can make it difficult to trust your own thoughts, feelings and needs. In this topic, you’ll explore how self-doubt and overthinking can cause you to dismiss your experience. You’ll practise moving beyond automatic judgements, developing fairer interpretations and trusting yourself without needing complete certainty.

Reimagine 1: What matters to me?
After years of adapting to other people, it can be difficult to know what you genuinely think, want or enjoy. In this topic, you’ll begin exploring your own values, preferences, interests and priorities. You’ll notice what feels meaningful or brings you closer to yourself, while giving yourself permission to have preferences that don’t need to be useful, justified or understood by anyone else.

Reimagine 2: What could life look like on my terms?
What might change if your needs, values, preferences and capacity were given greater consideration? In this topic, you’ll explore how areas such as work, relationships, home, routines, rest and personal interests could fit you better. The focus is on imagining realistic possibilities and small adjustments, rather than feeling pressured to redesign your whole life at once.

Rebuild 1: Using my voice
Understanding your needs is an important step, but communicating them can still feel difficult. In this topic, you’ll explore what self-advocacy can look like in everyday situations and learn how to ask for support, adjustments, clarity or time without feeling that you must justify yourself. You’ll also begin developing clearer boundaries and practise putting what you need into words.

Rebuild 2: Building a life that fits me
This final topic brings together what you have recognised, reframed and reimagined throughout the pathway. You’ll identify the insights you want to carry forward and choose realistic changes based on your needs, values and current capacity. You’ll create a flexible personal plan that includes the boundaries, adjustments, support and next steps that can help you continue building a life that fits you.
